Job description
Senior Buyer is responsible for managing the company's supply of products. Major responsibilities include strategizing to find cost-effective deals and principals. The role is to identify ways of optimizing procurement costs and developing assortment to drive growth and profitability.


Responsibilities

  • Liaises with key company employees to determine their product and assortment needs.
  • Monitors business trends and product availability to pay the best price for company goods and services without sacrificing quality or delivery times
  • Nurtures relationships with suppliers to negotiate the best prices for the company
  • Identifies and researches potential new brands and principals
  • Researches new products and brands to meet the company's goals
  • Assesses total costs of company purchases
  • Develops and implements strategies for procuring, storing, and distributing goods or services and maintaining stock levels
  • Devise and use fruitful sourcing strategies
  • Examine and test existing contracts
  • To facilitate & drive monthly forecasting process.
  • To ensure all inventory is maintained within agreed levels.
  • To highlight contingencies in case of possible out of stock or overstocking situation and take corrective action
  • To liquidate shortexpiry stocks with minimum discounting, ahead of expiry dates.
  • To continuously maintain (and improvise) the mutual working relationship with all Brand Principals.
  • Work closely with Principals on the development of Business Plans in the various trade channels to stay ahead of competition
  • Frequently Develop & Analyze various reports and derive actionable points and follow up on same
  • Prompt & Efficient Inventory management, to ensure Cost of Capital is maintained within agreed parameters.

Qualifications

  • Graduate with a minimum of 8 years of GCC experience
  • Full understanding of dynamics of FMCG products/trade in GCC
  • Good communication & Presentation skills (in English).
  • Proficient in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and SAP
  • Possess Bahrain driving license
  • Talent in negotiations and networking
  • Experience in collecting and analyzing data
  • Strong leadership capabilities
  • Efficient, Multitasker, Creative thinker, Result-Oriented with good Problem Solving & People skills
