Role purpose
The sales assistant is there to help the customers in the HTP retail outlets. He /She would help customers identify and purchase the exact products they need.

The goal is to provide high class customer service and to increase company's growth and revenue through excellent merchandising and sales maximization.


Key accountability**- Ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction through excellent sales service

  • Maintaining excellent branch condition and visual merchandising standards
  • Count money in cash drawers at the beginning of shifts to ensure that amounts are correct and that there is adequate change.
  • Maintains checkout operations by following policies and procedures; reporting needed changes.
  • Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
  • Assist with the sales process by maintaining a fully stocked store
  • Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction through excellent sales service
  • Maintain fully stocked pharmacy shelves at all times
  • Ascertain customers' needs and wants
  • Recommend and display items that match customer needs
  • Welcome and greet customers
  • Manage pointofsale processes
  • Actively involved in the receiving of new stocks
  • Keep up to date with product information
  • Accurately describe product features and benefits
  • Follow all company's policies and procedures
  • Scan items and ensure pricing is correct.
  • Dispense correct change.
  • Resolve amount discrepancies.
  • Bag, box, or giftwrap merchandise.
  • Process returns and check to see if items are damaged.
  • Return unwanted items to shelves.

Role-specific experience and skills

  • High school degree and Proficiency in English
  • Proven working experience in retail sales
  • Basic understanding of sales principles and customer service practices
  • Track record of overachieving sales quota
  • Solid communication and interpersonal skills
  • Customer service focus
  • Friendly, helpful, confident and engaging personality
  • Basic administration skills
