The American University of Bahrain seeks a Software Engineering Professor for the spring semester. Candidates must hold a PhD in software engineering from a reputable institution.

Preferred candidates have taught at the undergraduate level, both online and in-person, and possess relevant industry experience.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Teach up to five courses per semester based on rank.
2. Develop course syllabi, plan lessons, and assign work.
3. Evaluate student progress through assignments, exams, and other assessments.
4. Counsel students on course selection and academic goals.
5. Collaborate with colleagues to create or modify degree programs.
6. Stay current with industry developments.
7. Administer exams and attend faculty meetings.
8. Maintain teaching and assessment quality standards.
9. Publish research papers and supervise student projects/theses.

Requirements:

• PhD in software engineering from a recognized institution.
• Experience teaching software engineering and related fields at the undergraduate and graduate levels.
• Preferably with a degree from the United States or experience teaching in the US higher education system.

Essential Skills:

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Familiarity with Learning Management Systems (LMS).
