Manama, Kingdom of Bahrain

• Create a supportive learning environment to help students reach their educational and career goals

Grade 1 Teacher:  Canadian School Bahrain                                    August 2020 - September 2021

Diyar Al Muharraq, Kingdom of Bahrain

  • Instrumental in developing lessons, academic content, and resources in reading, writing, math, science, and social studies for Grade 1 classes at a school that was beginning its 2nd year of inception. 
  • Adapted all lessons for online learning integrating flexibility, adaptability, time, communication, and technology to educate Grade 1 multilingual and multinational students.

  • Trained general education teachers on how to adjust methodology to meet individual challenges of students with disabilities, which included scaffolding, accommodating, and differentiating. 
  • Co-taught and co-planned with 7th and 8th grade ELA teachers in an all-inclusive environment, including developing multidisciplinary specialized instruction plans for all students (identified and unidentified) to meet Arizona Common Core College Ready standards.
  • Assessed and monitored student progress using formative and summative standardized and informal assessments.
  • Collaborated with general educators, special educators, students, and parents to develop IEP goals and individualized plans that focus on specifically designed instruction to meet individual needs.

A Master of Arts in Education and Special Education was achieved in December 2003.  The courses were held on the campus of the University of Northern Colorado, Greeley, Colorado.  My GPA was 3.89/4.0 scale and was awarded the Kephart Scholarship for academic achievement in  2002.
